Enhanced Recharge Project
The Santa Ana River Enhanced Recharge project captures rain and snowmelt from the Santa Ana River, storing it underground for future use. By capturing and storing water from various sources, including rain, snowmelt, and the State Water Project, we are taking long-term steps to withstand dry periods and climate variability.

Vision
The Enhanced Recharge Project enhances the natural replenishment of groundwater basins while preparing the region for future drought and population growth. As part of San Bernardino Valley’s long-term strategy for climate resilience and water sustainability, this project expands the region’s capacity to capture local stormwater and store imported water.
Project Impact
Water Reliability
20 Groundwater recharge basins, Tripling Previous Groundwater Capture and Recharge.
Groundwater Resilience
Groundwater replenishment benefits over 2,000,000 people by ensuring a reliable and sustainable water supply.
Environmental Stewardship
A 600 Acre-Site, with 200 acres of enhanced habitat created.
Community Value
Pp to 80,000 Acre-feet of annual stormwater capture per year.
